Rum Balls Recipe





The rum balls recipe is a staple around the holidays. This delicious recipe can be made with either rum or bourbon!

Ingredients
12 ounces vanilla wafers, finely crushed (3 cups)
1 cup finely chopped pecans
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/3 cup rum or bourbon

For Rolling:
1/2 cup powdered sugar

Hardware
Large bowl
Small bowl
Double boiler
Waxed paper

Step 1: In a large bowl, combine crushed vanilla wafers, pecans, and 1/2 cup of powdered sugar.
Step 2: In a double boiler over simmering water, melt chocolate chips with corn syrup.
Step 3: Add Bourbon or rum; stir until smooth.
Step 4: Pour chocolate mixture over wafer mixture. Stir to combine thoroughly.
Step 5: Shape mixture into 1-inch balls; and place on waxed paper.
Step 6: Place 1/2 cup of powdered sugar into a small bowl.
Step 7: Roll balls in powdered sugar. Store balls in an airtight container with waxed paper separating layers.

Makes 4 dozen balls.
