Meringue Skeleton Bones Recipe
The meringue skeleton bones recipe makes an easy, great looking cookie! The little ghouls and goblins will just love these!
Ingredients
3 large egg whites
¼ teaspoon cream of tartar
1/8 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup granulated sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Hardware
Medium bowl
Cookie sheets
Parchment paper
Pastry bag or cake decorator with plain tip
Mixer
Step 1: Preheat oven to 200 degrees F.
Step 2: Line cookie sheets with parchment paper; set aside.
Step 3: In a medium bowl, with an electric mixer set on high speed, beat egg whites, cream of tartar, and salt until fluffy.
Step 4: Gradually beat in sugar.
Step 5: Add vanilla extract.
Step 6: Place mixture in pastry bag with a medium plain tip. Pipe 3-inch bones onto parchment paper.
Step 7: Bake for 1 hour. Turn oven off, let cookies set in oven for 1 hour.
Makes about 50 bones.
