Mayonnaise Cookie Recipe



The mayonnaise cookie recipe is a fluffy sugar cookie. The mayonnaise replaces shortening to give a more unique flavorful cookie!

Ingredients
1 cup granulated sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup mayonnaise or low fat mayonnaise
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 pinch of salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

granulated sugar for sprinkling

Hardware
Whisk
Large bowl
Cookie sheets

Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2: In a large bowl whisk together flour, baking soda, sugar, and salt.
Step 3: Stir in mayonnaise and vanilla extract. Dough will be crumbly.
Step 4: Form dough into tablespoon size balls. Place on ungreased cookies sheets 2 inches apart.
Step 5: Mash each ball with a fork and sprinkle granulated sugar on top.
Step 6: Bake 12 minutes. Do not overbake. Immediately transfer cookies to cooling surface.

Makes 36 cookies.
