Malted Milk Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe



The malted milk chocolate chip cookie recipe is a creative way of making early 20th century flavors come alive again. Malted milk powder can be found in the local market, usually next to the powdered hot chocolate or coffee creamers.

Ingredients
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup plain malted milk powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup of packed light brown sugar
2 sticks (1 cup) salted butter, softened
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
12 ounces (2 cups) milk chocolate chips

Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, malted milk powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
Step 3: In a large bowl, blend sugars together with an electric mixer set on medium speed.
Step 4: Add butter and mix.
Step 5: Add eggs, vanilla extract, and condensed milk, and beat at medium speed until light and fluffy.
Step 6: Gradually add flour mixture and chocolate chips until just combined.
Step 7: Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheets, 2 inches apart.
Step 8: Bake for 22-25 minutes until cookies are lightly brown along edges. Transfer cookies immediately to cooling surface.

Makes 36 cookies.
