Coffee Blonde Brownies Recipe
The coffee blonde brownies recipe is a kicked up version of an old favorite. A mixture of chocolate chips, pecans, and coffee, give this brownie a soothing taste that adult will love!
Ingredients
2 2/3 cups packed dark brown sugar
3/4 cup salted butter
2 tablespoons strong instant coffee or espresso powder
1 tablespoon warm water
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 pinch salt
1 cup chopped pecans

11x8x1-inch baking pan

Step 1: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder; set aside.
Step 2: In a medium saucepan, heat brown sugar and butter over medium-low heat until butter melts; set aside.
Step 3: In a small bowl, dissolve the coffee and water and pour into the saucepan with melted butter; set saucepan aside to cool.
Step 4: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 5: Lightly grease the bottom and sides of an 11x8x1-inch baking pan; set aside.
Step 6: With an electric mixer set at medium speed beat eggs and vanilla extract into butter mixture.
Step 7: Stir flour mixture into butter mixture until combined.
Step 8: Stir in chopped pecans and chocolate chips.
Step 9: Spread brownie mixture into the prepared baking pan.
Step 10: Bake for 25-30 minutes. Do not overbake. Cool completely before cutting onto squares.
Makes 20 bars.
