Chocolate Butter Pecan Bar Recipe
The chocolate butter pecan bar recipe has the bottom of a delicate butter cookie, a thin layer of chocolate, and then finished by topping with pecans.
Ingredients
1 cup (2 sticks) salted butter, softened
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 3/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup coarsely chopped pecans
Hardware
Large bowl
13x9 inch baking pan
Baking spray
Step 1: Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2: With cooking spray, coat 13x9 inch baking pan; set aside.
Step 3: In large bowl, stir together butter, brown sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla.
Step 4: Blend in flour and salt.
Step 5: Press mixture into prepared pan, bake 25-30 minutes until lightly browned.
Step 6: Remove from oven; immediately sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over crust.
Step 7: Let stand until softened, about 5 minutes; spread evenly with butter knife.
Step 8: Sprinkle with pecans, cool completely before cutting into squares.
This recipe makes about 20-24 bars.
