Candy Bar Brownie Recipe
The candy bar brownie recipe has so many different flavors it's hard to explain. Start with a chocolate brownie, top that with marshmallow and peanut butter, top that with peanuts and caramel. Then finally finish it all up with a layer of melted chocolate. So rich in flavor your taste buds will explode!
Ingredients
Brownie:
1 1/2 sticks (3/4 cup) salted butter, softened
2 tablespoons water
2/3 cup granulated sugar
6 ounces (1 cup) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Candy Bar Topping:
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 stick (1/4 cup) salted butter, softened
1/4 cup milk
1 cup marshmallow creme
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups dry roasted peanuts
40 caramels, unwrapped
1/4 cup water
9 ounces (1 1/4 cup) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Hardware
Large microwave safe bowl
Medium microwave safe bowl
2-quart sauce pan
1-quart sauce pan
Aluminum foil
13x9-inch baking pan
Cooking spray
Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2: Line 13x9-inch baking pan with aluminum foil, leaving 1 inch of foil overhanging on opposite sides of the pan. Spray with cooking spray; set aside.
Step 3: In a large microwave safe bowl, combine 3/4 cup butter, 2 tablespoons water, and 2/3 cup sugar. Microwave on high setting for 1 minute or just until mixture comes to a boil. Stir until blended.
Step 4: Stir in 1 cup chocolate chips.
Step 5: Stir in vanilla extract, and eggs until well blended.
Step 6: Stir in flour and baking powder. Spread batter into prepared pan.
Step 7: Bake 18-23 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool for 30 minutes.
Candy Bar Topping:
Step 1: In a 2-quart suacepan, heat 1 cup of sugar, 1/4 cup butter, and the milk to boiling over medium heat, stirring constantly.
Step 2: Boil for 5 minutes, then add 1/4 cup peanut butter (reserve remaining 1/4 cup), marshmallow creme, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Pour over brownies.
Step 3: Sprinkle roasted peanuts over top.
Step 4: In a 1-quart saucepan, heat caramels and 1/4 cup of water over medium-high heat until caramels are melted; pour over peanuts.
Step 5: In a medium microwave safe bowl, microwave chocolate chips on high for 1 minute or until softened.
Step 6: Stir in remaining 1/4 cup of peanut butter, stir until smooth; pour over caramel layer. Refrigerate at least 1 hour.
Step 7: Use foil to lift bars from pan before cutting. Store in refrigerator.
